In May of 1997, I began my career in business aviation with little idea where the journey would lead. Twenty-five years later, I remain just as passionate about helping aircraft owners navigate one of the most complex and dynamic industries in the world.
Over the past 25 years, I have had the privilege of working with aircraft owners, corporate flight departments, entrepreneurs, financial institutions, and aviation professionals throughout North America and beyond. During that time, I have witnessed remarkable changes in our industry.
I have experienced the rapid growth of the late 1990s, the challenges that followed the events of September 11, the record expansion of the mid-2000s, the financial crisis of 2008, the long recovery that followed, and the unprecedented market conditions that emerged during the pandemic era.
Each cycle has reinforced an important lesson: successful aircraft transactions are rarely just about airplanes.
They are about business objectives, family priorities, timing, risk management, and financial strategy. Every aircraft owner has a unique story, and every transaction requires a thoughtful approach tailored to their specific goals.
When I entered the industry, market information was limited, aircraft listings were distributed primarily through printed publications, and buyers often relied on a small network of industry contacts to evaluate opportunities. Today, aircraft owners have access to more information than ever before. While technology has transformed how transactions are marketed and managed, experience, relationships, and sound judgment remain as important as ever.
Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work alongside some of the finest professionals in aviation, including lenders, title companies, maintenance providers, attorneys, flight departments, and fellow brokers who have helped make countless transactions possible.
I am equally grateful to the aircraft owners who have entrusted me with one of their most valuable assets. That trust has never been taken for granted.
In 2009, I founded JetBlack Aviation with a simple objective: provide aircraft owners with professional representation, honest communication, and a results-driven process. As the company evolved into Valor Jets, those principles remained unchanged.
Today, our commitment is the same as it was when I started in this business more than two decades ago: help aircraft owners make informed decisions and achieve the best possible outcome.
Looking back, I am grateful for every client, referral partner, colleague, and friend who has been part of this journey.
The aircraft may change. The market will continue to evolve. New technologies will emerge.
What will not change is our commitment to serving aircraft owners with integrity, experience, and a relentless focus on results.
Thank you for being part of the first 25 years.
